Resolutions....

I never liked resolutions. I suppose I understand why they are popular. A new year, fresh start, etc. During the vacation that I had that is almost over (ugh!) I really prayed each day for specific people and tried reconnecting with God in general. I did a lot of soul searching, and had lots of "humbling" moments with people and in doing that, I thanked God for all of my joy, as well as pain in my life. Through my prayers, I felt that God was showing me not to live in the past and to keep moving ahead and looking forward. A bad habit that I have is that I continue to relive situations in my life over and over again, and rehash and think about what I could have done differently to achieve a better result. I realized that by doing that, I was getting further from God and, moreover, not enjoying my life right here and now, which is a pretty awesome and blessed life. I love that God is all about second chances, and that if we come to Him with a trusting heart, He makes them "first chances." So, my resolution is to trust in God and have full confidence that He will bring me to all my "first chances" this coming year.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."
